Youth for Peacebuilding: Phase III
A four day training programme on ‘Youth for Peacebuilding’, was organised by FAsCE India in collaboration with Fransalian Youth Mission (FYM) to train peace volunteers across the Northeastern region, at its head office, Guwahati from May 7-10, 2015 and this was the third of its four ToTs (Training of Trainers) planned.

“The goal of this project is to promote grassroots level movement for peace and harmony in the seven states of Northeast India by building a network of youth willing to work for peace”, said Fr (Dr) Emmanuel Mapplilaprambil, the executive director FAsCE India, welcoming the participants.

The third ToT (Training of Trainers) on ‘Youth for Peacebuilding’ was inaugurated by Mr. Vedprakash Gautam, the child protection officer UNICEF, Assam. “Peace can be achieved only by ensuring social justice and security”, said Mr .Vedprakash Gautam, in his inaugural address.

The initiative is designed in tune with the present Northeastern scenario to promote, support, and maintain peace and harmony in the region.

A total number of 30 youth from Bahalpur, Dhemaji, Gogamukh, Jonai, Manikbond, Panbari, Silapathar, and Telam of Assam trained under this programme.

The Training programme was animated by the resource team from Peace Channel, Nagaland led by Fr (Dr) C.P Anto, its director.

“This training has enlightened me and inspired me to work for peace, which is important for our present and future generations” said Mr. Sebastian Basumatry, a participant from Panbari.
